The Ike & Julie Arnove PlayOffs

Come play with the Bloomington Playwrights Project as it hosts the 2009 Ike & Julie Arnove PlayOffs. Nine original plays written and produced in under 24 hours. Who will win the Pennant this year? You decide!

On October 23rd at 6:30pm, a group of theatre artists will break off into nine teams, each containing a "Manager" (Playwright), "Coach" (director) and two to three "Players" (actors).

Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan, will be on hand to throw out the first pitch to begin this season's games. The "pitch" contains a common theme, prop and line of dialogue that each team must incorporate into a new, original 7 to 10-minute play. From that point on, the clock is ticking and don't count on any timeouts. The teams only have one day to make it happen before the opening game the following evening. Each team will have to make a play, hold practice and be game ready.

On October 24, 25, 30 & 31 at 8:00pm, those teams better be warmed up and in gear for the 2008 pennant race. Which team will prevail? Who will be this year's MVP? The fans decide! All this plus special guest artists each night to sing the national anthem.

The BPP will host a Championship Halloween Party immediately following the performance on October 31st. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume (preferably baseball themed) and enjoy a cash bar and dancing. Later, we will announce this year's winning team and MVP!

Don't miss this year's most exciting artisitic competition!
