Local Artist Showcase
featuring a performance by Improv Story Theater Artist Nell Weatherwax
Friday & Saturday, October 16 & 17 at 8pm
$10 General Admission
available at the door the night of the event
The Bloomington Playwrights Project's new Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz, has chosen to produce a Local Artist Showcase as his inaugural event at the Bloomington Playwrights Project.
While he takes on a goal of expanding the BPP towards national recognition, it's a bold way of showing that the theater's roots are in the community and its extremely gifted artists. The event, taking place on Friday, October 16 & Saturday, October 17 at 8pm will feature the talents of local Bloomington artists of all mediums. Come early (doors open at 7:30pm) and see local artists creating live paintings in the lobby and a musician on the lobby stage.
"This town is fantastic and is filled with so many gifted people. It's my job at BPP to help bring their talent to an audience," explains Rabinovitz. "I hope we sell-out both nights because these artists are worth it."
The show, hosted by Nicholas Moore, will begin with stand-up comedy by Tom Brady and is followed by a performance by Indiana University's improv troupe HoosOnFirst. Closing out the evening will be an act by improv story theater artist Nell Weatherwax. The entire evening (about an hour and a half in length) will showcase many great talents, all for the low price of $10.
Praise for Nell Weatherwax:
