Chad has directed more than 100 productions across the country (and produced nearly 300), focusing primarily on new and contemporary plays and musicals. He was the Producing Artistic Director of Bloomington Playwrights Project for 13 years (2009-2022) until the company successfully merged with Cardinal Stage and Pigasus Institute to create Constellation Stage & Screen. 

While Producing Artistic Director of the Bloomington Playwrights Project (2009-2022), BPP underwent what Bloom Magazine called “a near miraculous renaissance.” Taking the helm of a theatre nearing six-figures in debt, Rabinovitz quintupled its subscribership, erased all debt, vastly expanded its education program, completed a full-building renovation (and purchased the building), doubled the operating budget, and sold out every single performance of every production for 5 straight years.

From 2014-2021, he was the only artist in the United States to have simultaneously served as the Producing Artistic Director of two theaters devoted to new works when he also led the Adirondack Theatre Festival (Glens Falls, NY).  While there, he also created the acclaimed Adirondack Film Festival. 

For his achievements, Rabinovitz was the recipient of Bloomington’s Manager of the Year Award, the Downtown Revitalization Award, Bloomington’s Attraction of the Year Award, Ivy Tech’s Community Partner Award, and was honored with being on the cover of Bloom Magazine where he’s referred to as “a visionary artistic director, savvy businessman, and inspirational leader.” He was named one of the 100 Reasons to Love Bloomington and was honored with Bloomington’s 10 Under 40 award as well as Glens Falls’ 20 Under 40 award in the same month. 

Specializing in developing new works, Rabinovitz has fostered and directed/produced premieres from such prominent playwrights as: Steven Sater, Burt Bacharach, Alex Brightman, Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer Simpson), Douglas Lyons, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Daniels, Drew Gasparini, Kooman & Dimond, Scott Alan, Christy Hall, Michelle Kholos Brooks, Kelly Younger, Jon Marans, Israel Horovitz, Carner & Gregor. Rabinovitz is also known for creating and directing magic acts, working most prominently with renowned magicians, Simon Coronel (World Champion of Magic), Shoot Ogawa (World Champion of Magic), Max Major (AGT), and directing the National Tour of Penn & Teller’s Foolers.

Chad is also the owner of The Candy Space (www.thecandyspace.com), along with a candy manufacturing company, Space Candy, and is a proud graduate of Advanced Adult Space Camp.

Daniella is thrilled to be joining the Constellation team! She is a theatremaker and community builder coming to Bloomington from Chicago. She graduated magna cum laude from Webster University’s Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts with a degree in Directing and was an Emerging Professional Resident at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. She has three years of development experience writing grants and supporting arts organizations of all sizes in Chicago both as an individual and as a member of the Artistic Fundraising Group team. In her directing work, she has assistant directed at regional theatres across the Midwest, including Steppenwolf Theatre Company, St. Louis Repertory Theatre, and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, in addition to directing around the country. Her most recent work in Bloomington was The Roommate in February 2020 at Cardinal Stage. Gabe Gloden Gabe Gloden is a nonprofit management professional with over 15 years of marketing, engagement, administration, financial management and development experience dedicated to the arts and cultural sector. Gloden has served as Managing Director for organizations such as the Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP), Indiana’s only professional theater devoted solely to new plays, Boise Contemporary Theater, one of only three professional theater companies in Idaho, and Cardinal Stage Company. Along with three other executive staff and boards, Gloden led a three-way merger of BPP, Cardinal Stage, and the Pigasus Institute to create Constellation Stage & Screen, a new professional theater and film company based in South Central Indiana, and a subsequent renovation and reopening of the John Waldron Arts Center, an anchor downtown venue for community-based arts. Gloden holds a Master in Public Affairs (MPA) from Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a concentration in nonprofit management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Wayne State.

John Armstrong is an actor, producer, director, and coach with over 20 years of diverse experience in the entertainment industry. John is the co-founder of Pigasus Pictures, an Indiana-based, independent film company. At Pigasus, John produced several films including THE GOOD CATHOLIC (Danny Glover, John C. McGinley) and SO COLD THE RIVER, the film adaptation of Michael Koryta’s novel of the same name.

John’s acting credits include As You Like It (New York Classical Theatre), The Piper with Tony award nominees Christiane Noll and Bob Cuccioli (NYMF and Irish Repertory, NYC), Heartbreaker with Tony award nominee Christine Andreas (NYC), Seussical (National Tour), Macbeth (Indiana Repertory), Hamlet (title character, Freed PAC), and many more. John also performed locally in Santaland Diaries and Rounding Third for Cardinal Stage and Tuning In for BPP.

John has served as instructor and professor of acting, voice, movement, musical theatre, and Shakespeare studies at the New York Film Academy, Ohio Northern University, Indiana University, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, and Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. John began his training in vocal performance at the Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre, under the mentorship of esteemed professor emeritus George Pinney, and an MFA in acting in the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance where he performed in more than 20 plays and musicals over 7 years. John is also a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association, Bloomington Rotary, and the National Society of Arts & Letters.

Emelie Flower has spent the past decade making and teaching film. After attending IU, she went on to work as an Associate Instructor for IU’s telecommunication department and spent time freelancing around the midwest on film and commercial shoots. Prior to the Constellation merger, she was one of the original instructors with Bloomington Academy of Film & Theater/Pigasus Institute, where she developed their film educational programming. She then headed out east where she led a high school summer film intensive with Bryn Mawr Film Institute while also sharpening her camera skills as a rental technician at a Philadelphia camera rental house. Upon her return to Bloomington in 2022, she rejoined the team as a Constellation instructor before stepping into her current role as Director of Film. When she’s not at the studio, you can catch her with a camera in hand working on passion projects and shooting for local musicians at venues around town!

KATE GALVIN has been in Bloomington since 2017, first as Artistic Director of Cardinal Stage, and then Constellation. In 2023, she shifted gears within the organization and now serves as Constellation’s Casting Director and Creative Producer. Her directing work has been seen in Constellation’s The Importance of Being Earnest and Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, as well as many Cardinal productions, including  Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, The Glass Menagerie, The Christians and Fun Home. A Barrymore Award-winning director, her Philadelphia credits include Lizzie (11th Hour Theatre Company, 9 Barrymore nominations), A Moon for the Misbegotten (Walnut Street Theatre/National Tour), Midsummer – a play with songs (Inis Nua Theatre Company, Barrymore Awards – Outstanding Direction of a Musical, Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical) and Other Desert Cities (Walnut, Fulton). Regional credits include Creep (WaterTower Theatre, World Premiere), 4000 Days (Fulton Theatre, American Premiere), Buyer & Cellar (Portland Stage Company), and Wit (North Carolina Theatre). Kate assisted Barbara Gaines on Paul Gordon’s musical adaptation of Sense & Sensibility (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, World Premiere).

Prior to moving to Bloomington Kate was the Associate Producer at 11th Hour Theatre Company and the Casting Director/Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director at the Walnut Street Theatre. She has been a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre for over 15 years and has served on several committees, including the Festival Committee. She currently serves as a Vice President on NAMT’s board.

Kate is a summa cum laude graduate of NYU’s Steinhardt School, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre). She holds a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre (Producing) from Goldsmiths – University of London. She is co-creator of the musical Austentatious, which has been produced in New York, London, Philadelphia, Calgary and elsewhere, and is published by Playscripts, Inc. Cassie Hakken is an arts administrator and theater artist, currently serving as the Marketing Director of Constellation Stage & Screen. Prior to Constellation, Cassie acted as the Managing Director of the Jewish Theater of Bloomington and the Marketing Manager of Cardinal Stage, leading the re-branding and publicity aspects of the company’s three-way merger in 2022.

Cassie has also worked extensively as a theatre artist and technician. Most recently, Cassie directed “Proof” by David Auburn for Off-Night Productions, a new, female-led theatre company in Bloomington. During college, she produced and directed a night of short sci-fi plays entitled For the Living, worked as a stagehand and crew lead for IU Opera and Ballet, and stage managed productions for IU Theatre, Stages Bloomington, and the Jewish Theatre of Bloomington.

Cassie holds a BS in Business Management and a BA in Theatre & Drama from Indiana University. Originally from Grand Rapids Michigan, Cassie now resides in Bloomington, IN with her husband Ben Jackson.

Aubrey has worked professionally at McLeod Summer Playhouse in Illinois, Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, Cardinal Stage, and Constellation Stage & Screen. She was the prop master for all of Constellation’s 22/23 Season productions and Cardinal’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Mountaintop, and A Year with Frog and Toad! She is a graduate of Ball State University where she got her BFA in Theatre Design and Technology. Some of her favorite works include The Full Monty written by Terrence McNally, Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Fun Home by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori. She thanks her mother, her mentor John Sadler, and her amazing partner for all of their support!

Jennifer Lloyd comes to Constellation Stage & Screen after serving as the General Manager for Cardinal Stage. Previously a practicing attorney and briefly a commercial baker, Jennifer has no formal background in theater but knows what she likes.

Sarah Nichols is a fiber artist living and working in Bloomington, Indiana. Sarah moved to Bloomington from Chicago in 2014, where she studied art history at Columbia College. She has since become involved with a variety of arts and arts education programs, including being a member of the Lotus Visual Arts Committee and an artist at the I Fell Building, as well as a teacher at the Center for Lifelong Learning, Little Spring Studios, and for private students. Sarah is excited to continue her passion for arts and arts education at the Waldron Arts Center as part of the Constellation team!

Topher Rohrer Is an alumnus of the IU Theater Department (15’) and is excited to be back in Bloomington working with Constellation Stage & Screen as their Production Manager. After graduating IU they went on to attended California Institute of the Arts (18’) to receive their MFA in Creative Management and Producing. While there they worked as a Stage Manager for Six Flags Magic Mountain managing a variety of entertainment venues including: the parks largest haunted maze Aftermath, the Cirque du Soleil style show Kwerk, and even the Musicians and Dancers of The Full Throttle Nights band.

After finishing Grad School, they relocated to Portland OR and joined the creative team of Stumptown Escape Games while also Freelancing as a Production Stage Manager of immersive and site-specific work. This work includes projects such as: Hamlet in a House produced by Speculative Drama; Directed by Myrrh Larsen, and an immersive Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Experience Theatre Project. They also had the pleasure of working with The Center for New Performance for a second time to revive The Carolyn Bryant Project; Directed by Nataki Garrett. Most recently they returned to IU to Stage Manage a new work by Jayne Deely – Unqle Play; Directed by Andrew Borthwick-Leslie.  

Eric Shelley is a native Hoosier and a graduate of Indiana University’s Theatre and Drama program and has had rewarding careers as both an actor and teacher. He is thrilled about his “Bloomerang” status.

After graduation, Eric worked as a New York City-based actor throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, and Europe. Most recently, Eric played the lead in Lost Letters, a new musical that premiered at Bloomington Playwrights Project. Eric also served as dialect coach on several equity productions and has been a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association since 2000.

As a Special Education teacher and Behavior Interventionist based out of Los Angeles, Eric co-founded STEM3 Academy, a project-based school catering to gifted students with Autism. Eric was also the sole operator of an after school program that provided academic support for at-risk students attending The Help Group, a non-profit, non-public school for students with special needs. 

Previous to his role as Constellation’s Director of Education, Eric was the managing director of Bloomington Academy of Film & Theatre/Pigasus Institute, where he created and oversaw all educational programming. Currently, Eric serves as Executive Officer of Student Outreach for the Singing Hoosiers Alumni Council and as Secretary for Indiana University’s Theatre Circle Board.

Jordan Stephens is a recent graduate of IU’s Arts Administration program through the O’Neill School. He/They interned in Development at the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis during the pandemic, maintaining donor relations and ensuring the theater’s relevancy, despite the challenges Covid caused. He/They has worked in customer service for 7 years, and is excited to put that knowledge towards Constellation’s bright horizon.

After apprenticing for two seasons at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse in his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana David went on to study in the field of scenic design for opera and ballet at the I.U. School of Music, Bloomington, In. where he honed his skills as a scenic artist and designer. Working outside the school he landed a design position with the Mitchell Opera House designing two seasons of plays and musicals. He worked as designer and director for Bloomington Music Works, staging Mikado, Once upon a Mattress, A Little Night Music and Pirates of Penzance. He connected with Bloomington Playwright’s Project working on new and original works with playwrights, directors and other theater artists most notable productions, Nobody’s Flood, Apropos of Nothing, Sequence and She Kills Monsters. For Cardinal Stage Company, he has designed, Pippi Longstockings and 1776 and was the scenic artist for, Lord of the Flies, Les Misérables, and August Osage County. His has worked with Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana designing H.M.S. Pinafore. His work with Ivy Tech, Bloomington, Indiana has challenged his skill as he has created environments for, Spring Awakening, (Anon)ymous, Sweeny Todd, and the Evil Dead, the musical to mention a few.
