To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the musical camp the BPP wanted to do things on a larger scale. YMT will see the return of a live band but also do something more in line with the mission of the BPP of encouraging and exposing new works of theatre.

13 debuted on Broadway just a couple of years ago so it sounded like a great and exciting fit. And here's the big news... 13 is the first Broadway musical to have a cast and band entirely composed of teenagers! Check out the brief synopsis below.

A grown-up story about growing up!

When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done. The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life and his only friend, Patrice, won't talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail and someone is spreading the nastiest rumors.

In addition to being written for middle school-aged voices, 13 takes the frustration and stress of being on the verge of teendom and gives it center stage. Divorce, adjusting to a new school and a new town, initial dating experiences, figuring out which friends are worth keeping, and engineering the perfect Bar Mitzvah are some of the challenges Evan faces throughout the show.

With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, "13" is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.
