Professional Actor Training Project
(The PAT Project)
Ages 13 - 18
If theatre is your serious passion, spend two weeks with trained theatre artists in intensive workshops receiving instruction in disciplines vital to every serious young acting student. Participants will learn in-depth, dynamic, and fun approaches to character development, movement, improv and more. Additional workshops include auditioning techniques, stage combat, and technical design. This camp is a great way to build on skills you already posses and develop new ones in preparation for a future of theatre.
The PAT Project is in partnership with the prestigious Actors Theatre of Louisville. In addition to performing award winning plays from ATL's New Voices student playwriting program, Theatre Boot Camp members will travel to the Actors Theatre of Louisville to tour the facilities and receive tickets to a production of The Cherry Sisters and the 2010 New Voices show.
• Go beyond high school training while still in high school
• Learn to live truthfully in the moment, bringing authenticity to your work as you explore and find the courage to let go and play.
• Work with a script to gain an understanding of the basic mechanics of playing a scene truthfully and freely.
• Open up your physical instrument through voice and movement work so that you can fully live in your body, experience the moment, and allow yourself to truly bring a character to life.
